Angelos Kanas

Angelos Kanas is Professor of Finance at the Department of Economics, University of Piraeus. Formerly, he was a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Wales Bangor and the University of Stirling, and a Professor in Finance at the University of Kent, UK. He is an Associate Editor for the journals Empirical Economics and Applied Financial Economics, and has acted as a Guest Editor for the Journal of International Money and Finance.

He has published in internationally recognised finance journals including the Journal of Money Credit and Banking, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Economics Letters and others. He has participated in numerous research projects funded by the EU (Marie Curie Actions), NATO, and other sources, and has been invited by the EU as a referee for research project evaluations.

His research has received attention in the financial literature and has been cited in leading journals and textbooks. He is a regular contributor in major international conferences including the European Finance Association conference and the Financial Management Association conference.
